There are plenty of places where you can celebrate Mother’s Day in McKinney, Texas. You’ll be able to enjoy great food, have fun with family members, shop, and more. Here are some of the best Mother’s Day events in the area.

The Mother’s Day Market and Brunch

The Mother’s Day Market and Brunch takes place at Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine, about half an hour away from McKinney. This indoor and outdoor entertainment complex has a restaurant, a sports bar, and pickleball courts. Pickleball is similar to tennis, but it uses modified rackets and plastic balls with holes. It’s fun for people of every age and skill level. You can also play ping pong or Jenga.

At this event, you can shop among more than 20 local vendors selling jewelry, candles, clothing, art, and handcrafted items. You can also have brunch and participate in a pickleball tournament. Children and pets are welcome. Brunch choices include avocado toast with pine nuts and hard-boiled egg whites, French toast, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, and more. This restaurant buys ingredients from local farmers, and you can sit indoors or outdoors.

Vintage Market Days

Vintage Market Days is a flea market and antique show that takes place on Mother’s Day weekend. It’s at Myers Park and Event Center in McKinney. You and your family can shop and check out food trucks and live music. Tickets are $22.50 and are valid for entry on both days. Admission for children 12 and under is free. You can also pre-purchase a ticket for only $15.00 and shop one hour before opening to the general public. This park has a lush landscape and more than 158 acres, and it’s a great place to enjoy nature.

Hours: Friday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Seafood Company

The Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Seafood Company is in Plano, about 15 minutes away from McKinney. Brunch and dinner items are available. You can celebrate Mother’s Day with fried lobster and waffles with fried shrimp, honey butter, and blueberry thyme-infused syrup. Other choices include fried chicken and waffles and a grilled cheese lobster sandwich with tomato sauce, Vermont cheddar, and sea salt fries. The Crab Benny comes with poached eggs, crab cakes, spinach, sweet potatoes, and hollandaise sauce, and the house-made beignets have vanilla sugar. This event is often crowded, so make your reservations early.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Crust

Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Crust is another excellent place in Plano to celebrate Mother’s Day. The Steak & Eggs Our Way comes with a marinated, wood-fired, 8-ounce sirloin steak, two eggs sunny side up, and rosemary-roasted new potatoes. The Veggie Amore Frittata is an Italian-style omelet with roasted mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomatoes, and tomato basil and spinach relish. You can also try smoked salmon pizza with San Marzano tomato sauce, capers, goat cheese, truffle cream, and onions. Many types of artisan pizza are available, and reservations are required.

The Always Mothers Luncheon

A Motivating Love hosts the Always Mothers Luncheon at the Plano Event Center. This year’s theme is Restore & Renew the Real You. It has vendors, a lunch, motivational speakers, and live entertainment. Everyone attending must be at least 10 years old. The keynote speaker is Lavinia Masters, an experienced speaker who helps motivate survivors of trauma. Entertainment is from ShantaQuilette Develle, a comedian, social media influencer, content creator, and transformational speaker.

Location: 2000 E. Spring Creek, Plano, Texas

Hours: Saturday, May 6, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the doors open at noon

Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Rio Cantina & Grill

If you feel like Mexican food for Mother’s Day, reserve a spot for the Mother’s Day Brunch at Urban Rio Cantina & Grill in Plano. Try the breakfast tacos with scrambled eggs, house-smoked brisket, a cheese blend, and fresh cilantro. The breakfast burrito is a 12-inch tortilla with eggs, house-made beef chorizo, cheese, pico de gallo, and a side of beans.

The chicken and waffles have jalapeno-crusted chicken, house-made waffles, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and fresh fruit. You can also choose the Veggie Club Quesadillas with cremini mushrooms, spinach, a cheese blend, cilantro, and sauteed garlic. The fried fish tacos come with corn-crusted cod, three tacos, jalapeno slaw, and chipotle aioli.

Mother’s Day! Rainbow Wish!

Mother’s Day! Rainbow Wish! takes place at Painting With a Twist in Garland, about 25 minutes away from McKinney. Children 6 and over and adults can attend. Those 21 and over can bring their own bottles, and wine openers and cups are provided. You and your children can make beautiful artwork, or you can watch your child while you enjoy a glass of wine or drop them off and pick them up when the event is over. Admission is $35 per person.
