Landon Winery
There’s something synonymous about wine and a romantic date night, which is why Landon Winery is a fantastic place to visit with your partner. Landon Winery first opened in 2005 and has since become one of the largest wineries in Texas. If you like sweet wines, consider ordering a bottle of peach or raspberry wine. If you prefer red wines, the Texan is a deep, rich wine that blends the flavors of sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon. In addition to tastings, the winery hosts a variety of other exciting events, such as festivals, art classes, wine dinners, and food pairings.
Tupps Brewery
Do you and your partner tend to prefer beer instead of wine? Then make plans to have a date night at Tupps Brewery. No matter what night of the week you’re planning your date night, you’re sure to find something fun happening at the brewery. Stop by on Wednesday nights and show off your smarts during Beer + Brains: Taproom Trivia. Teams can have two to six people, so you can even bring along some friends for a double date.
If you decide to stop by on Friday or Saturday nights, you’ll enjoy live music to go along with your food and drink. Some of the popular drinks available at Tupps Brewery include the National Standard golden ale, Tupps IPA, Full Grown Man stout, and Blur Mango Dragonfruit Hard Craft Seltzer.
Arcade 92
If you and your date like having a little competitive fun, you can challenge each other at Arcade 92. This arcade offers everything from retro games and pinball machines to a modern gaming area that has state-of-the-art loungers and some of the latest video games. Wild Brush Studio
For couples who want to uncover their artistic side, a date night at Wild Brush Studio is an excellent idea. Open parties at the studio are held most Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. No matter what type of artistic ability you have, you’re more than welcome to make a reservation for this event.
You simply bring any type of refreshment you’d like to enjoy during your art class, and the studio will provide all of the materials you need to create your masterpiece. An experienced art teacher will provide guidance and direction to help you bring out your creative side and have fun. Classes are $45 per person.
McKinney Moviehouse & Eatery
Dinner and a movie is the quintessential date night. Why not make it a little more special by combining the two at McKinney Moviehouse & Eatery? This movie theater features 10 dine-in theaters that come complete with plush recliners and helpful servers. Once you decide which one of the latest releases you want to see, you simply purchase your tickets to reserve your seats.
After you’re seated and ready to enjoy the show, take a look at the menu to decide what you want to have for dinner. The eatery offers an excellent variety of dishes made from scratch using fresh ingredients. Some of the signature dishes include the crispy Brussels sprouts, Farmhouse Burger, and cauliflower salad. When your food is ready, your server will discretely and quietly serve your meal so you can enjoy watching the movie.
If you need anything during the movie, such as another glass of wine or the popular cookie trio for dessert, you simply press the call button on your seat to alert your server. The theater even has a full-service bar in the lobby that’s the ideal place to grab a drink before or after the show.
Craft & Comfort Cocktail Tour
Downtown McKinney has some outstanding restaurants, and you can try out a few of the best when you take the Craft & Comfort Cocktail Tour with We Ate Well Food Tours. This tour occurs on Thursday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m.
During the tour, you’ll enjoy three craft cocktail tastings and six comfort food tastings that include dessert. The tour is an easy stroll that’s less than a mile. Along the way, you’ll also have a chance to learn more about the history of the area and chat with some of the local culinary influencers. The cost of the tour is $79 per person.
Heard Natural Science Museum
If you’re looking for something unique to do after the sun goes down, sign up for one of the night hikes at the Heard Natural Science Museum. The museum offers two different excursions that let you experience the trails in a completely new way.
During the Seasonal Night Hike, you’ll experience the thrilling sights and sounds of the night as you look for the nocturnal creatures of the area. On the Owl Prowl Night Hike, you’ll learn more about these famous birds of the night and take a guided hike through the sanctuary to see if you can spot any owls. The hikes range in cost from $12 to $20.
