Easter is just around the corner, and many fun things are going on in and around Dallas that should get you and your family excited about celebrating. Obviously, you can attend several Easter egg hunts in the area, but that’s not the only reason you’re sure to look forward to the coming holiday. While many of Dallas’s Easter events are yet to be announced, we’ve done some research on what’s going on this year. Here’s our list of Easter events in and around Dallas that you won’t want to miss.

6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Location: Bonnie View Park, 2100 Huntingdon Ave., Dallas

Cost: Free

Time: Noon to 5 p.m.

Date: Saturday, April 8

Presented by Boss’N Up Kids Club and FaEva Loyal Jr Rydahz, the 6th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Bonnie View Park will be just as exciting, if not more so, than last year’s event. This free egg hunt is open to the public, and kids of all ages will enjoy themselves participating in a variety of activities. You’ll even get the opportunity to take your child’s picture with the Easter bunny.

There’ll be lots of Easter-themed games to play so bring your appetite and get yourself some food from local vendors that’s sure to satisfy your hunger. And don’t forget an Easter basket so your child can join in the traditional egg hunt.

Eggs-cellent Eggs-travaganza

Location: Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 6710 Webster St., Dallas

Cost: Free

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Date: Saturday, April 8

Over the years, Bethany Missionary Baptist Church has done much to help the surrounding community. One of their traditions that brings people together is hosting the Eggs-cellent Eggs-stravaganza each spring. This is a much-anticipated event that many Dallas residents attend every year. Attendees can look forward to more than just the family-friendly egg hunt. The Bethany Missionary Baptist Church Youth Ministry hosts the event, so you can count on them to know what kids and families will enjoy.

Your kids can use up all the Easter candy energy they’ve accumulated by bouncing to their heart’s content in the bounce houses. There’ll also be some great music playing throughout the event to keep you in the spirit of the holiday and the season. On-site food trucks mean you won’t have to go hungry, and there’ll be more to choose from than just candy. Make sure you attend so you don’t miss any of the action.

Easter Vendor Market

Location: 331 Singleton Blvd., Dallas

Cost: Free

Time: 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Date: Sunday, April 2

Featuring over 25 local vendors, the Easter Vendor Market is an opportunity to support local crafters and businesses this spring. Through a partnership between ArtPark Trinity Groves and Happily Ever Sip & Shop, this event will come to the Dallas area for one day only. In addition to the vendors’ offerings, there will also be live music for your listening pleasure, as well as lots of great photo ops, so have your phone or camera ready. Take part in craft classes to make something special you can take home with you.

You’ll have a chance to play lawn games while you sip on a tasty themed cocktail. Sweets and treats will be available to nibble on while you shop. Feel free to bring your well-behaved dogs and children to the Easter Vendor Market, as it’s an event intended for all.

Easter in Lee Park

Location: Lee Park, 3333 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas

Cost: $10 for pet parade registration

Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Date: Sunday, April 16

Easter in Lee Park is a Dallas tradition and one you won’t want to skip. The event happens every year, and many people look forward to the festivities. The park itself is a nice place to spend time with family and friends, but the Easter event really livens things up. Bring a picnic lunch and plan to spend the day. You’ll hear live music from The Gypsy Playboys and DJ Jen Miller, while the emcees at the event will be none other than LeeAnn Locken, a Real Housewife of Dallas, and Steve Kemble, Dallas’s very own lifestyle guru.

Have your camera ready for photos with the Easter bunny, and make sure the kids are prepped with their Easter baskets for the egg hunt. If you want to enter your pet in the Pooch Parade, don’t forget to register — it’s only $10 — and judges will award prizes for various categories.

Breakfast or Brunch With the Easter Bunny at the Pumpkin Patch

Location: 1926 Milam Road E., Sanger

Cost: $15, though children under two years are free

Time: 9 a.m. to noon

Date: Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2

It might be a bit of a drive, but having breakfast or brunch with the Easter Bunny at the Cobbins Family Pumpkin Patch will create lasting memories for you and your family. Show up at 9 a.m. if you want breakfast, and starting at 10 a.m., you can get brunch. There will be a fun build-your-own waffle bar, a breakfast meat option, juices, and coffee. Your ticket includes a personalized Easter basket for kids aged 2 to 12, which they can use to collect their eggs during the egg hunt.

After the Easter egg hunt, let them burn off some energy at the playground or in the bounce houses. And the entire family will enjoy a little friendly competition when they try out a few of the lawn games, such as cornhole.
