If you’re looking to upgrade your ride with a stylish and high-performing SUV, the Tucson checks all the boxes. So, we’ve put together a comparison of the Tucson trim levels to help you make an informed buying decision. The Tucson is often compared to the Kia Sportage, however we believe the following is enough to keep your interest in the Tucson.

The base model SE comes nicely equipped with exterior features such as LED headlights, daytime running lights, and turn signal indicators. Automatic headlights with high-beam assist come standard, too. Body-color door handles, side mirrors, and a rear spoiler adds style and performance. You can upgrade the outside mirrors to include LED turn-signal indicators. The SE trim uses 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior redesign of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is worth checking out the trim levels.

Inside the SE, you get premium stain-resistant cloth upholstery and a six-way adjustable driver’s seat. The 60/40 split-folding rear seat offers multiple cargo configurations, and the cargo floor has two levels to provide room for larger items or to hide valuables. Power door locks and windows come with every trim, as do a rear-seat center armrest with cup holders.

In-vehicle technology runs through the 8-inch color touch screen with HD radio. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capability allow you to sync your smart devices for hands-free operation. Steering wheel-mounted controls enable radio, cruise control, and wireless calling operations. Dual USB outlets in the front keep you charged and connected, while two 12-volt outlets offer additional power.

Standard driver-assist systems like forward-collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and lane following assist help improve safety. A rear occupant alert system detects when a passenger remains in the rear seat and alerts you to check before leaving the vehicle.

You can add blind-spot collision avoidance assist and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist as options. Also, you can opt for the safe exit warning system, which alerts you when traffic approaches on the street side of your Tucson before you leave the vehicle.

Under the hood of every Tucson, you get Hyundai’s 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and 16 valves with gasoline direct injection and idle stop/start technology. Hyundai pairs this engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic technology. This powertrain delivers 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

The Tucson comes with a capable front-wheel-drive system. However, Hyundai offers its HTRAC all-wheel-drive system as an option on every trim. An independent MacPherson strut with coil springs on the front and an independent multi-link rear suspension work with gas-pressurized shock absorbers to smooth out the road imperfections. When properly equipped, the Tucson can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

2022 Tucson SEL

The Tucson SEL trim has all the features of the SE, plus a few additional upgrades. You get LED taillights, heated side mirrors with LED turn signal indicators, and rear privacy glass. In addition, the SEL comes with front Aero wipers, roof side rails, and a proximity key with push-button start technology.

Optional equipment includes a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, a premium Dark Chrome front grille, premium LED daytime running lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a hands-free smart liftgate with auto-open and adjustable height settings.

The SEL trim offers leather-trimmed seating as an option. You also upgrade the driver’s seat to an eight-way power-adjustable seat with lumbar support. SEL trim front seats have three-stage heating standard and ventilation as an option.

Other optional equipment includes a premium Bose audio system, a wireless charging station, Optional convenience features such as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a leather-wrapped shift knob, dual automatic temperature control, and ambient lighting add comfort and style.

Technology add-ons, such as dual USB outlets in the second row, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Hyundai’s Blue Link service, come standard on the SEL trim.

The driver-assist smart cruise control with stop and go on the SEL trim eases driver fatigue and improves safety on highway trips. The forward-collision assist system adds cyclist and junction turning capability. This system can alert you to a cyclist or oncoming vehicles when turning. In addition, the rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, safe exit warning, and blind-spot collision-avoidance assist systems now come standard on the SEL.

You can upgrade to an ultrasonic rear occupant alert system that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect a presence in the rear seat.

2022 Tucson Limited

Hyundai includes all the features of the SEL and SE trims with the Limited and some premium additions. You’ll get LED projector headlights, and the premium LED daytime running lights come standard. Also, the Limited comes with premium front and rear fascias, including the Dark Chrome front grille. New standard equipment includes a panoramic sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, the hands-free liftgate, 19-inch alloy wheels, and the Hyundai digital key.

The Limited trim comes with leather upholstery standard, plus it adds an eight-way power-adjustable front passenger seat. In addition, front and rear seats have a three-stage heating function, and the front seats come standard with ventilation.

The color touch screen upgrades to 10.25 inches and includes navigation and an HD radio. Also, the Bose sound system and wireless charging pad come standard.
