Even this base-level Santa Cruz trim doesn’t skimp on the features and performance. You’ll get a 2.5-liter direct-injected in-line four-cylinder engine with an estimated 190 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This engine works with an eight-speed hydraulic automatic transmission. Together, these features create a towing capability of up to 3,500 pounds. Along with pre-wired towing capacities, this vehicle is built to move materials. Front-wheel drive is standard for the SE trim, but all-wheel drive is also available as an option.

For the exterior, the Santa Cruz SE comes with features like 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights, LED daytime running lights, a shark fin antenna, a sheet molded composite bed, sidewall bed storage compartments, heavy-duty cargo bed D-Rings, under-bed storage, and a rear bumper sidestep. You can also enjoy rear privacy glass and a remote release tailgate. Together, these standard features create a unique look built to amplify your ride’s towing power and convenience.

On the inside, you can expect comfort features like a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel with audio, cruise, and phone controls, removable under-second row storage bins, stain and odor-resistant cloth seating, and a six-way manual driver seat with manual height adjustment. Entertainment and convenience features include a remote keyless entry system, a color LCD multi-information display, an audio system with six speakers, Bluetooth hands-free with wireless audio streaming, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and dual-front USB charge ports. Sit back and relax in style with the Santa Cruz’s standard luxury.

For your safety, you can enjoy features like a rearview camera with parking guidance, forward collision avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, lane-keeping assist, lane follow assist, high beam assist, and rear occupant alert. All this technology comes at a starting MSRP of $23,990 for front-wheel drive and $25,490 for all-wheel drive. If you’re looking for an affordable Santa Cruz that still has plenty to offer, the SE might be your best fit.

SEL

As you move up to a more advanced Santa Cruz trim, you’ll enjoy the standard features and technology of the SE plus some fun additions. The SEL comes standard with the same engine, transmission, and towing capacities as the SE. Like the SE, it comes with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available.

On the exterior, you’ll get added and enhanced features like proximity key entry with push-button start, front automatic power windows, and side mirrors with turn signal indicators. For the interior, enjoy a souped-up eight-way power driver seat with two-way lumbar support, heated front seats, SiriusXM radio, and Bluelink-connected car service. LED interior lighting and wireless device charging are both available. With a slightly higher price tag starting at an MSRP of $27,190 for front-wheel drive and $28,690 for all-wheel drive, the SEL is a great choice if you’re willing to pay for great extra features and options.

SEL Premium

The next Santa Cruz trim is excellent for those who want a boost in power and performance. With a more powerful 2.5-liter direct-injected turbocharged engine, you’ll get an estimated 275 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. This comes with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that includes steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Santa Cruz SEL Premium’s towing capacity increases to an impressive 5,000 lbs with these enhanced features. All-wheel drive is standard on this trim.

You’ll enjoy everything the SEL has to offer for features, plus some great extra benefits. On the outside, you’ll get roof-side rails, rear sliding glass with a rear defroster, and a digital key that lets you go totally keyless. For the inside, enhanced features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dual auto temperature control, and auto defogger, and standard wireless device charging make your drive fun and comfortable. Although the SEL Premium’s starting MSRP of $35,680 is a jump from the SEL’s starting price, it’s worth it if you want more power, performance, and luxury.

Limited

To maximize your Santa Cruz experience, the top-of-the-line Limited trim is your best bet. Sharing an engine, transmission, and towing capacity with the SEL Premium, this trim has the power you need with even more features and technology. Like the SEL Premium, the Limited comes standard with all-wheel drive.

In addition to the SEL Premium’s benefits, you can add an impressive list of top-shelf technology and offerings. You’ll get a Limited-exclusive dark chrome grille and tailgate handle trim on the exterior, 20-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a premium dark chrome front and rear bumper trim. Supercharge your interior comfort with added features like a heated steering wheel, leather seating surfaces, ventilated front seats, dual rear USB charge ports, and ambient lighting.

To stay safe and connected on your drive, you’ll get intelligent cruise control, dynamic voice recognition, highway driving assist, intelligent speed limit assist, a surround-view monitor, and Bose premium audio. At a starting MSRP of $39,720, the Limited is your best bet for a luxurious, powerful, and connected Santa Cruz driving experience. If you’re willing to pay the extra price for this trim, you’ll be rewarded with many features and benefits.

No matter which 2022 Santa Cruz you select, you’re sure to have a wonderful driving experience filled with power, performance, and accessible luxury.
