If you’re in the market for a three-row SUV, the 2022 Hyundai Palisade deserves a close look. This midsize SUV offers plenty of standard and optional features, loads of space, and Hyundai’s impressive 10-year/100,000-mile warranty.
New Features for the 2022 Hyundai Palisade

The Palisade competes against some heavy hitters. However, it holds its own in nearly every category. New for this model year, Hyundai includes additional driver-assist systems standards on every trim level. Now, you’ll get Hyundai’s blind-spot collision-avoidance assist. This system gives you eyes where you usually can’t see on either side of your Palisade, warning you when vehicles enter your blind spots.
You also get the rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance system that uses similar technology to scan the road behind you while in reverse. This system will alert you to an approaching vehicle or obstacle, and it automatically applies the brakes of your Palisade if you fail to react. A new safe exit assist system warns you if a car approaches when you attempt to open a door on the street side of your Palisade. In addition, every trim features turn-signal indicators on the side view mirrors.
2022 Hyundai Palisade Trim Levels
You have four trim levels to choose from — SE, SEL, Limited, and the new Calligraphy. The Palisade seats up to eight passengers unless you select a model with second-row captain’s chairs. No matter which of the trims you opt for, you’ll get Hyundai’s 3.8-liter V-6 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain produces 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. In addition, the Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
Hyundai uses steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters and three drive modes. You can choose Eco mode for those longer trips where efficiency matters. Or, you can select Normal mode for your everyday driving. For a more spirited driving experience, you can opt for Sport mode, calibrating your steering, suspension, and throttle. Also, you have an all-wheel-drive system capable of transferring power to the wheels with the most traction for superior performance over various road surfaces and weather conditions.
Front-wheel-drive models get great mileage, coming in at 19 mpg city driving, 26 mpg on the highway, and a 22 mpg combined rating. The Calligraphy trim comes standard with all-wheel drive. However, you lose a little efficiency, dropping two mpg on the highway. Therefore, if you opt for AWD on the lower trims, you can also expect this drop.
2022 Hyundai Palisade SE Trim
The base model SE starts at just over $33,000 but comes nicely equipped. You’ll find LED headlights, daytime running lights, and taillights standard, along with 18-inch alloy wheels in various styles. In addition, the side view mirrors come standard with turn signal indicators and heating to help on those cold drives.
Your in-vehicle tech runs through an 8-inch touchscreen with a six-speaker audio system with an HD radio. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enable you to sync your cellphones for wireless operations. Now you can easily make calls, stream your favorite music, and access your apps through the built-in voice recognition software. Seven USB ports enable you and your passengers to stay charged and connected.
Driver-assist systems on the SE include forward-collision warning with emergency braking. This system scans the way ahead, alerting you to potential hazards and braking should you fail to react. You also get lane-keeping assist and lane-following assist. These two systems track your Palisade while traveling within marked lanes. When these systems detect an unintentional drift, they alert you and provide gentle steering correction to return you to your lane.
The adaptive cruise control system uses radar and cameras to keep your Palisade at a preset speed and distance while in traffic. The system automatically slows your Palisade down as the traffic ahead slows, even to a complete stop if necessary. The system will return you to your presets when the way forward clears.
2022 Hyundai Palisade SEL Trim
The SEL adds a few features at a starting price of $35,500, such as the proximity key with push-button start and second-row captain’s chairs. You also get an eight-way power-adjusting driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. In addition, the dual-zone climate control system features controls for second-row passengers.
You also get access to some excellent option packages for the SEL. For example, a Convenience Package adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free smart liftgate, a wireless charging pad, and a self-leveling rear suspension system. Hyundai’s Premium package includes leather upholstery, an eight-way power-adjusting passenger seat, and heated second-row seats. In addition, this package provides a third-row that power-folds and reclines and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation.
2022 Hyundai Palisade Limited Trim
The Limited trim comes with the Convenience and Premium packages standard and starts at $45,000. Added luxury appointments include Nappa leather and heated and ventilated seats in the first two rows. You also get rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree bird’s-eye view monitor, a head-up display, and a 12-speaker premium audio system from Harman Kardon.
2022 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Trim
The top-tier Calligraphy comes with all the features found on the Limited trim plus a few upgrades. Calligraphy starts at $46,690 and includes all-wheel-drive standard. In addition, you get puddle lamps, signature 20-inch wheels, and unique front and rear fascias on the outside. Inside, you’ll find sophisticated touches, such as a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and quilted leather door panels.
