The 2022 Hyundai Accent also provides substantial fuel efficiency. With a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, this four-door sedan has a combined fuel economy of 36 mpg. In the city, this dips just slightly to 33 mpg, but the Accent can get up to 41 mpg on the highway.

Hyundai equips two different engine platforms on the 2022 Kona. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is an efficient platform and gets a combined fuel efficiency rating of 32 mpg. The Kona still maximizes its fuel economy on city roads with a rating of 30 mpg and up to 35 mpg on highways. The 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo-charged engine also gets a combined rating of 32 mpg, 29 mpg in the city, and up to 35 mpg on the highway.


The 2.5-liter four-cylinder Sonata engine matches the Kona in fuel efficiency, with a combined rating of 32 mpg. In the city, The Sonata falls just under the 1.6-liter engine Kona with a fuel efficiency rating of 28 mpg. This rating gets a boost on the highway, with a maximum fuel efficiency rating of 38 mpg.

The 2022 Tucson Plugin Hybrid is a small SUV that equips Hyundai’s 1.6-liter spark-ignition direct-injection four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a 67-kilowatt permanent magnet synchronous electric motor. The 2022 Sonata Hybrid equips Hyundai’s efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder spark-ignition direct-injection hybrid engine.
