Introducing The 2024 Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai is giving the Elantra mid-cycle fresh for the 2024 model year. The 2024 Hyundai Elantra promises a bold new look, expanded safety features, and tech enhancements to complement this compact sedan’s strong performance and technology offerings. Let’s take a closer look at the latest Hyundai Elantra.

Stylish New Design

Hyundai has given its 2024 Elantra a sharp new makeover inside and out. The exterior now provides contemporary headlights and thinner running lamps, a two-piece grille, and redesigned front fascia and fenders. In the back, a revamped rear bumper and diffuser with a U-shaped trim leave a strong impression. Even the alloy wheel designs for all sizes are a little different and more modern. You can also choose the 2024 Elantra in several new colors: Ecotronic Gray, Ultimate Red, Exotic Green, and Amazon Gray.

The interior’s makeover is less dramatic, but subtle improvements should impress you if you have an eye for detail. Hyundai has redesigned its instrument cluster and added soft-touch front door panels. The new H-Tex leather upholstery is another luxurious touch on the Limited trims.

Comprehensive Safety Features

More robust safety features at all trim levels offer peace of mind while you’re driving the 2024 Hyundai Elantra. If you’ve got kids, you’ll appreciate the new rear side-impact airbags and rear seatbelt reminder.

The 2024 Elantra’s steering wheel will also provide haptic feedback, or vibrate, to warn you of potential hazards. This is a new feature of Hyundai’s lane-keeping assist, blind-spot collision warning, and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance functions that aims to keep drivers more alert and safer on the road.

Hyundai has also made its Limited trim more appealing by making the following once-optional safety features standard:

  • Surround-view monitor.
  • Blind-spot view monitor.
  • Forward and reverse parking distance warning.

Impressive New Sound Systems

While enhancing safety has been Hyundai’s focus, it hasn’t forgotten about keeping driving fun. If you love music, you’ll appreciate the new six-speaker audio systems that come standard on the lower trims. For even better sound quality, treat yourself to a Limited or N-Line trim with an eight-speaker Bose Premium Audio system as standard. Now, all but the base model gets a 10.25-inch infotainment system included.

Improved Connectivity

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra makes it even easier to stay connected. This vehicle has a Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluelink connected car technology. You never have to worry about your devices running out of power, with USB-C outlets now in the front and rear. The wireless charging pad also has a new and improved design.

The 2024 Elantra also comes with Digital Key 2, Hyundai’s latest smartphone-based car key. It’s compatible with Android and iOS devices and shareable with up to three trusted family members or friends. As the primary user, you can also control when others can use their key and alter privileges at any time.

A Better Ride in the Elantra N

Hyundai has also made several improvements to the Elantra N to ensure this high-performance vehicle rides better than ever in 2024. It also adjusted the electronic control stability hardware and software for better performance and reinforced the engine mount membrane and G bushing. The new urethane rear suspension/ABS insulator replaces rubber components to reduce noise and vibrations. Reengineering the steering gearbox yoke and reducing steering universal joint friction should improve handling and precision. Increasing tire pressure in the front and back optimizes the front axle load increase while keeping the ride balanced.

Quality Engine Options

Not everything is new for 2024 though. Hyundai has maintained its popular engine options for the new model year. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor is the base option. It’s a capable engine that generates 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The N Line trim gets a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder motor, producing 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.

The 1.6-liter hybrid electric engine is also back for 2024. While its 139 horsepower is less than the base engine, its 195 lb-ft of torque matches the N Line. The sporty Elantra N’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 286 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque.

Strong Fuel Economy

With no engine changes, the 2024 Hyundai Elantra also has comparable fuel economy to its 2023 predecessor. As a compact sedan, the Elantra has always been a fuel-efficient vehicle, and the latest offerings are no different. EPA estimates that trims with the base model 2.0-liter four-cylinder will get 33 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway. Fuel economy dips slightly with the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder motor. It gets around 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway.

Fuel economy falls again with the Elantra N’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It’s most fuel-efficient with the manual transmission, which gets 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Switch the automatic system and you can expect 20 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on highway drives.

If you really want to save money on gas, consider one of the Hybrid Blue or Hybrid Limited models. They get an impressive 53 mpg in the city and 56 mpg on the open road.

Trims to Suit Everybody

With the release of six standard 2024 Elantra trims and the high-performance 2024 Elantra N, Hyundai has made sure there’s a 2024 Elantra to suit everybody. The base model SE and its big brother, the SEL, both cost less than $25,000, so they’re excellent options if you’re watching your pennies. With the leather-appointed Limited, luxury lovers aren’t forgotten. If you feel the need for speed, the high-performance N and its little sister, the N Line, are both top choices. And if you’re looking for a sustainable choice, the hybrid vehicles have you covered.
