It has a charging speed of up to 350 kW and a driving range of about 303 miles. But our favorite fact about this vehicle is its four trim levels. The Ioniq 5 is available in four trim levels: the SE Standard Range, SE, SEL, and Limited. While there are differences in niceties across the lineup, all four variants share many similarities. Each Ioniq 5’s cabin is artistic and stacked with advanced technology, starting with a digital dashboard. Its head-up display uses augmented reality and projects navigation instructions onto the windshield.

Each trim has an electric engine with a single-speed automatic transmission. Some come with different options for the drivetrain:

  • SE Standard Range: RWD only
  • SE: RWD and AWD available
  • SEL: RWD and AWD available
  • Limited: RWD and AWD available

Let’s look more in-depth at the differences and highlights of each trim level on the Ioniq 5.

Ioniq 5 SE Standard Range

This Ioniq 5 trim delivers outstanding performance and innovation at a reasonable price. Its 58-kWh battery pack is paired with a rear-mounted electric motor to generate 168 horsepower. This automobile also has a range of 220 miles and supports high-speed battery charging. Notable features include 19-inch Aero Mag wheels, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch navigation touch display, and a digital cluster tool.

Cargo capacity in the Ioniq 5 SE depends on configurations. There are 27.2 cubic feet behind the back seats and 59.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat. It has LED daytime running lamps and headlights for enhanced visibility, while the liftgate makes loading and unloading your gear much more manageable.

Ioniq 5 SE

The SE trim level upgrades the primary offerings of the SE Standard Range. It provides convenience, elegance, cutting-edge, and advanced driving dynamics. The main features of this electric SUV include a 303-mile all-electric range, ultra-fast battery charging, a 12.3-inch HD touch-screen navigation system, and a digital instrument cluster. A 77.4-kWh battery pack improves the performance of RWD and AWD Hyundai Ioniq 5.

RWD models use a single, 225-hp electric motor with a range of 303 miles on a single battery charge. A new AWD update will incorporate two electric motors that supply 320 horsepower and has a 256-mile electric range. This trim can recharge 70% of its battery in 18 minutes. It also has 27.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats, which you can extend to 59.3 cubic feet if you fold all the rear seats.

Ioniq 5 SEL

SEL is one of the popular trims out there with its exciting performance. Its technology and comfort amenities have been optimized to enhance your driving experience. Rave reviews have trailed its synthetic leatherette interior, LED headlights, and hands-free smart liftgate with automatic open. That being said, our favorites at Huffines Hyundai Mckinney are the wireless smartphone charging system, Highway Driving Assist technology, and ambient interior lighting. Like the SE, the Ioniq 5 SEL has 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seats and 59.3 cubic feet with these seats folded down.

This variant is fitted with side mirrors that are powered, heated, and foldable. It has LED daytime running lights, headlights, and premium front accent lighting. It also includes a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and climate control vents in the second row of seating. The SEL boasts a rearview mirror with an automatic dimming feature and HomeLink technology, which transforms the mirror into a garage door opener.

Ioniq 5 Limited

The Limited, the pinnacle of the Ioniq 5 lineup, checks all boxes. It receives top marks for luxury, technology, and performance. Its major highlights include a Surround View Monitor, Remote Smart Parking Assist, a Vision panoramic sunroof, and a Blind-Spot View Monitor. It also comes equipped with a two-way, Vehicle-to-Load charger so you can charge your mobile devices and other small gadgets while driving. But we’ve barely scratched the surface of the style and efficiency of this vehicle. We’ve expanded on its exterior and interior features to do justice to its offerings.

Exterior

Although similar to the SEL in appearance, the Limited adds significant enhancements to establish its supremacy. Upon close examination, a prospective buyer would probably see the premium car skirt, sills, and glass accents of this luxe variant. Its rain-sensing windshield wipers are exclusive and can disable themselves on command.

The AWD Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited’s 20-inch Mag wheels are an upgrade on the 19-inch alloy wheels on most trim levels. Moreover, the automobile has 27.2 cubic feet of storage and a maximum cargo capacity of 59.3 cubic feet.

There is also the Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA) function, so the SUV can park itself in a perpendicular parking space. This function can be used in two ways. One way is to still sit in the driver’s seat and set the RSPA to reverse park for you. The other way is to put your car in park near an empty spot, exit, use the keyfob’s special button, and let the car handle the rest.

Interior

The cabin of the Limited matches the elegance of its exterior. Its heated, vented seats use leatherette upholstery, and the driver’s seat adds a relaxing feature. The seat back may recline to extreme degrees when this functionality is used, and the foot support will stretch farther. In this position, you may take a nap or simply relax while the car is charging.

The 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 has various outstanding trim levels, allowing drivers and passengers alike to experience different levels of comfort and functionality. Its user-friendly entertainment system contrasts the practical wide front seats and large cargo compartment.
